Frequently Asked Questions

I am not sure I can find the time to meditate every day for a month.

I understand that everyone is busy, but to fully benefit from the course, it is important to commit to do the home practice daily. I recommend 30 to 40 minutes of meditation every day. If that’s not possible, you can practice for shorter periods. The crucial thing is consistency. You will have access to recordings of guided meditations and other resources to support your practice. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you’re unsure about the time you can dedicate to daily meditation practice.

Is mindfulness training right for me at this moment?

This course aims to help you understand yourself better by fully experiencing your mind and senses. Mindfulness can help you manage stress, become more resilient, and enhance your awareness and well-being. However, practicing mindfulness requires facing your experiences, including difficult ones, to better understand and address them.

Please note that I am not a mental health professional. If you are dealing with severe mental health issues such as major depression, intense anxiety, untreated PTSD, psychosis, or going through significant life challenges like recent bereavement, addiction, or trauma, mindfulness training with me might not be suitable for you at this time. If you are not sure this course is right for you, please email me or schedule a call. I am happy to talk to you confidentially. Together, we can decide whether the course is a good fit right now.

I can only make some of the course dates. Can I still attend?

I understand a lot can happen in a month; however, I recommend you sign up with the intention to attend all sessions. If you do miss a session, it may be possible to arrange a make-up session for an additional fee. Please feel free to talk to me about your circumstances if you need more clarification on attendance.

I'm worried about sharing my experience in a group.

It is completely normal to feel nervous when speaking in a group setting. I aim to provide a safe and private space where everyone can explore and share what they are going through. Please remember that you are not required to share anything if you don’t want to. I encourage you to pay attention to your boundaries and only disclose information you are comfortable sharing.

Is the course physically demanding?

The course is not physically demanding. It includes slow walking meditation and a few short, gentle movement exercises while sitting down. Always move within what’s comfortable, and don’t overstretch your physical abilities. Walking meditation can be easily replaced by another movement practice. I can offer various options for any of the movement exercises. Please get in touch with me if you have mobility limitations or are worried about the movement practices for any reason. Please also describe your access requirements in the registration form.

Do I need any special gear or clothes?

You need a stable internet connection. I highly recommend using a computer because phone screens are too small to see multiple people on a video call. Besides that, you don’t require specific equipment for the session. All you need is a flat, sturdy chair or a cushion/meditation bench if you prefer sitting on the floor. I recommend wearing loose and comfortable clothing. Bring a glass of water and have something to eat before the session.

What is the maximum number of participants?

The maximum number of participants is 15. I want to keep the group small so that everybody has a chance to share and ask questions.

I am not familiar with Google Meet. Will I be able to use the required technology?

Google Meet is a web-based platform that runs in your browser. You don’t need to download anything or have an account to attend. An online mindfulness course has all the elements of an in-person event, and it is often more convenient to participate from the comfort of your home. If you’ve never used Google Meet, I recommend you try it out briefly before joining the first session. I can offer you support via email, or we can arrange a call to try out the technology if you are not confident you will be able to use it. If you would like to schedule a call, please go to the contact page.

Is there a minimum age limit?

This course is designed for adults. Unfortunately, I don’t have courses for children or teenagers at this time. If you are under 18 and interested in attending, please get in touch with me.
