Why Mindfulness?

We all experience moments when we are fully awake, fully here, not worrying about the past or future. Walking by the river as the sun sets, running, dancing, immersed in work or play. We all know the joy of being completely in the moment. But we don't know how to be present more often, continuously and intentionally. Mindfulness helps us cultivate and develop our innate ability to be present and fully alive. It enables us to connect with our body, emotions and thoughts. To discover the capacity to be with difficult emotions and respond to them wisely.
Bare feet standing on a mossy rock in a stream with clear, moving water.

About Martin

I began practising mindfulness and meditation over 20 years ago, and it has been a life-changing journey. Because of the positive impact of these practices on my life, I decided to share them with others. That's why I enrolled in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. I am offering this course for free as a part of my studies.

To be mindful is to be kind.

The best thing you can give yourself or anyone else is attention.

Course Features

This experiential mindfulness training will help you integrate mindfulness into daily life and (re)start and support a regular meditation practice. Each live session lasts for 90 minutes and includes guided meditations, short talks, and opportunities to share your experiences with the group. In addition, you will receive handouts and guided meditation recordings to support your home practice after each session.

More About the Course

Session One

What Is Mindfulness?

We will learn about mindfulness and connect with our senses in the present moment. We will practice mindfulness of the breath and discuss attitudes supporting mindfulness and why we need an ‘anchor’ to which our attention can always return.

Session Two

Body, Pain, Kindness

Why is it important to be mindfully present in the body? The session will include mindful walking and self-compassion practice. We will discuss the role of acceptance, openness, and self-compassion when we experience pain and discomfort.

Session Three

Emotions and Thoughts

What role do emotions, pleasant and unpleasant feelings, and thoughts have in our lives? We will explore mindful ways of being with our thoughts, feelings and emotions without getting overwhelmed by them or struggling against them.

Session Four

Daily Life, Compassion

How do we integrate everything we have learned into daily life and keep our practice going? We will meditate on kindness for ourselves and others. The final meditation will unite mindfulness of the senses, body, emotions, feelings, and thoughts.
